The Friends of Fish Creek (FOFC) have a variety of great educational programs planned for the next several weeks. Click the links to register and view more details. Up first is “Connecting with Nature Meditation” next Tuesday, May 19, from 7:00-8:00 pm.
The last FOFC event in May is the lecture “Springtime in Fish Creek – Wildlife, Conservation Officers, and You.” It will increase your knowledge about park wildlife, and you’ll learn how to behave respectively around young and newborn birds and mammals as well as adult wildlife. Fish Creek Conservation Officer Melanie Pachkowski will also share some of her most memorable experiences in Fish Creek Provincial Park.
There’s a great lineup of programs scheduled for June, too. The first is a Wetlands Minibus Tour on June 4 from 7:00-9:00 pm. Participants will learn how engineered wetlands revitalized Fish Creek after the creek was polluted by the encroaching urban landscape.
The second FOFC program is a basic DSLR photography course on Thursday, June 11 from 6:00-8:30 pm. Participants will learn the essentials of using their DSLR cameras and will get to take some great shots throughout Fish Creek. There are only two seats left, so register as soon as possible!
Watch for us to post more details on our blog about the June Friends of Fish Creek programs, or visit the FOFC calendar.
