If you’re interested in a more holistic lifestyle and health treatment, then plan to attend Friends of Fish Creek’s lecture “The Healing Power of Nature” on Thursday, April 16. Dr. Gayle Maguire, Member of the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, will be presenting from 7:00 to 8:00. She’ll explain how naturopathic doctors use lifestyle counselling, herbal medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture and other methods to help improve energy, sleep, mood, digestion and pain. This approach has been gaining in popularity around the world because of its comprehensive diagnosis and treatment. Stress factors, nutrition, and lifestyle all affect our health, and developing a healthy, balanced lifestyle can help prevent a treat a host of physical and mental problems.
The lecture will be held at Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre, Shannon Terrace, Fish Creek Provincial Park (13931 Woodpath Rd. SW – Access via 130 Ave. SW and 37 St. SW). It’s a perfect venue, because Fish Creek Provincial Park provides many opportunities year-round for physical activity and rejuvenation.
