If you visit Fish Creek Provincial Park between now and April, you’ll want to be aware of a natural gas line installation. It’s part of the Urban Pipeline Replacement Program, featuring a low-pressure natural gas line of approximately 2.6 km in length. For your safety, please obey all posted detour and warning information signs. Read the following list to learn about affected areas:
- Entrance to Park temporarily narrowed along Bow Bottom Trail
- Some bike and pedestrian pathways will be detoured or temporarily restricted
- Open and accessible excavations will be supervised or fenced and/or barricaded
There’s no need to worry about the Park’s landscape being permanently disturbed. The work area will be restored to its original condition later this year. The restoration is scheduled to take place in summer of 2016, and the work will also include a new paved pathway connecting the Park to 146 Ave. along Bow Bottom Trail.
