robin-nickelRobin Nickel is the Executive Director of the Calgary Area Outdoor Council. He has enjoyed activities in the outdoors all his life, especially in the backcountry where, he believes, the senses expand, the spirit is enriched, the mind finds clarity, and the physical challenges are memorable. In fact Robin still fondly recalls one particular physical challenge that happened during a backpacking trip in the Mt. Assiniboine area, where he had to hitch a ride out on a helicopter after seriously spraining his foot – the injury occurred when he fell out of a backcountry outhouse!
