CMI Publishing is a division of Complete Marketing Inc. Based in Calgary, Alberta, we serve the local as well as the international travellers who come to experience the history, culture, landscapes and nature that are unique to Alberta & British Columbia.
Our core values are honesty, integrity and accountability. The founder of CMI Publishing is Bob Harris. Bob and his team treat everyone with these three values in mind. Our relationships with our readers, advertisers, contributors, and sponsors are our central focus.
Experience Fish Creek Provincial Park was launched by CMI Publishing in the spring of 2013. This launch took place after months of discussions with Alberta Parks. Our vision was to publish the maps of Fish Creek Provincial Park that used to be produced within Explore Kananaskis Country, the Ghost Area & Fish Creek and combine that with rich stories of the history of the area.
Just prior to going to press in 2013, it came to our attention that the Calgary Parks Foundation was constructing a paved pathway system as a ring around the City of Calgary that would connect dozens of neighbourhoods and utilize the trails within Fish Creek. The construction of this trail system was to take place in phases over an estimated 5 years with completion expected in 2017.
In the year that followed, we realized that the newly named Rotary/Mattamy Homes Greenway should take a more prominent role within our guide. So, in 2014, the publication’s name was changed to Experience Fish Creek Provincial Park & Calgary’s Greenway to reflect the publication’s increased focus on the Greenway. Our larger vision now is to produce a guide to the parks & pathways within Calgary.
An estimated 40,000 people read our first edition and this number will increase as we ramp up the print run of the magazine. Hundreds more have read the digital issue of this guide and this number is expected to spike quickly as residents are likely to use their mobile devices to access our content while they are in the parks and on the pathways in Calgary.
Experience Fish Creek Provincial Park & Calgary’s Greenway is not our only publication. All of our projects (map and magazines) are designed to enrich the visitors’ experience within the provincial and national parks and throughout the region. We strive to create user-friendly publications and on-line tools that promote good stewardship of the land. For more information about all of our visitor guides go here.
Our company had its humble beginnings in the home of our Founders. Bob still often works from home, or on the road, but we have offices in South Calgary and representatives in Jasper, Kelowna, Vancouver, and Brighton. To learn more about our team, go here.
